Nigerian singer Davido has addressed rumours that he was paid $94,600 to perform at an event but did not show up. The rumours were started by former NFF president Amaju Pinnick, who claimed that Davido was “playing games” and that they had to find a replacement artist, Shallipopi.

Davido has denied the allegations, saying that he had a “genuine reason” for not being able to perform at the event. He also said that he had refunded the money to the organizers.

In a series of posts on social media, Davido wrote:

“I was never paid $94,600 to perform at the event. I had a genuine reason for not being able to perform, and I have already refunded the money to the organizers.

I am very disappointed that Amaju Pinnick is making these false allegations against me. I have always been professional and respectful in my dealings with him, and I do not know why he is trying to tarnish my name.

I am a man of my word, and I would never take money from someone without fulfilling my obligations. I am asking Amaju Pinnick to retract his statement and apologize to me.”

Pinnick has not yet responded to Davido’s denial.

The incident has sparked a debate about the professionalism of Davido and the music industry as a whole. Some fans have accused Davido of being unprofessional and of taking advantage of the organizers. Others have defended Davido, saying that he had a valid reason for not being able to perform and that he has already refunded the money.

The incident also highlights the importance of contracts in the music industry. A clear and concise contract would have helped to protect both Davido and the organizers in this case.
